Weeknote #47
Spent the weekend with my parents while they visited over Mothers’ Day
Visited the Tower of London with my family and showed them my favourite ever sculpture of a lion (see weeknote XX for a picture)
Hit my head really hard on a traffic sign that had fallen down a pole - nothing like a concussion to start a new job with!
First week in my new job - lots of onboarding, training and admin, very little of anything resembling what my job will actually be
Nick bought me a huge load of “congrats on your first day” presents and flowers (I’m eating some of the chocolate while typing this up)
Started a new notebook/bullet journal for work
I find these really helpful for keeping notes in one place and, since I put a break page in for each new month, it helps to keep a rough track of progress over time as I learn new things and tackle new problems which is useful for performance review time
I’ve chosen “focus” as my keyword for this book to help me remember to stay on task during working hours
Our bulb lasagne pots are going crazy! Lots of daffodils, a pink hyacinth in each pot, and lots of tulip leaves and buds coming through
Found out we’re unlikely to get a puppy in May since the litter didn’t have enough girls for us to definitely get one
It’s still possible but very unlikely and we’re looking at the end of the year, earliest, now
Sewed all the boning channels into my new 1860s style corset so I can finally fit it all together this weekend!
Found even more yarn that I’d completely forgotten about from a couple of years before I really started knitting regularly so trying to find patterns for them all before they join my main stash and TBK (To Be Knit) pile
