Weeknote #46
Second week of unemployment before I start my new role on Monday
First sewing group meeting at my local church where we’ll be creating a new altar frontal for use during lent and advent - we spent a fun couple of hours cutting purple fabric donations into scraps for quilting
I made the most of my time as a “lady who lunches” catching up with a couple of friends who have less standard working hours
Tuesday afternoon was spent having my hair re-coloured and cut - before a new job feels like the perfect time for a fresh cut and I’m excited to be getting more back to my brunette roots. Of course I found some time to do some sock knitting while the colour developed!
Designed a new dress for a wedding I’m going to in a couple of months and ran an instagram poll to figure out which way round to do the colours
Sewed up a new 1860s inspired corset mock up and cut out the fabric for the real thing
Washed and ironed 7m of new fabric for the above dress and a new skirt
Visited the Streatham St Leonards church for their tower practice and rang some different bells with some different people
We did 3 “magical mystery tour” called changes where we didn’t know what we’d be doing before we started. The concentration needed to keep in your place and follow the changes you need to do is quite hard but I only got lost once per “tour”
Drove out to see my Grandad for an afternoon which was lovely - I found out about his national service time and we chatted about the dogs that he had
Cleaned the house ahead of my parents coming to stay for the weekend
We have a hyacinth blooming in one of our bulb lasagnes!
