Weeknotes #3
This week has been slowed by a cold that I caught in the office last week coming into full bloom. I took a day off work sick to recover after an awful night’s sleep and spent that day starting on the first sleeve of my Moby Sweater since it needed very little concentration. I’ve also worked the collar so it now looks much more like a sweater to me.
Cheer is getting a little stressful since we have our next competition next weekend and we only did our first full-out of the newly reworked routine this week at training but hopefully it’ll be alright. At least it’s a good workout and we’re all in the same boat!
Some of my first tomato seedlings have sprouted this week and I’ve graduated my sunflowers to their teenage pots so they can start developing bigger root systems and grow a little taller inside while the weather is still warming up slowly. My chilli seedlings aren’t growing particularly quickly at the moment but I’m hoping that’s mostly as a result of the cooler weather we’ve been having. Our garden should be finished in the next 2 weeks so it should be done by the time any plants need to make their way outside!
Since I’ve barely done any commuting this week my sock hasn’t had much progress made but I’m trying to be content with taking knitting projects at a sensible pace rather than rushing through and ending up with more than I could possibly use!
I’ve offered to make my dad a jumper as a combination birthday and Father’s Day present this year and purchased the yarn needed for the pattern he’s chosen. From what I can tell before buying the pattern, it looks to be a project that’s knit in panels and then seamed together which is generally my less-preferred method but as long as he likes the finished jumper it’ll be worth it.
My recent Lucy & Yak order included a pair of wide leg jeans that I really love but were about 3” too long for me so I spent about an hour this week hemming those and now they fit like a dream.
