Weeknote #4
This week has been incredibly hectic!
A trip to IKEA on Monday after work to finalise our new kitchen design
Two cheer training sessions ahead of our next competition on Sunday
Watching The Rest Is Politics: Crisis Management live at the London Palladium on Wednesday
Plus all the usual knitting whenever I have time around work!
My Moby jumper is now about 70% of the way there - it has one completed sleeve and an almost finished body. I’ve found a good flow that works well for me with knitting seamless jumpers where I first work up until I’ve joined the body below the armholes and keep going ‘til that ball of yarn is finished, then work one sleeve and finish up the ball of yarn in use by continuing the body, repeat for the second sleeve, and by then I’ve pretty much just got the body ribbing left. I find it helps me keep momentum and breaks up the sleeve and body islands that it can otherwise be easy to get stuck on.
A lovely PetiteKnit project bag that I ordered a couple of weeks ago arrived on Monday which meant that I felt comfortable taking my sweater on the tube to work on this week which was an exciting venture.
The Hermione’s Everyday sock that I was working on while commuting got a lot of love on a big journey to Walthamstow last weekend for some friends’ leaving drinks ahead of their move to Mexico and I think the first sock will only need another inch or so before I work the toe.
Since I’m off to Florence next week for a much needed few days away, I’ve also spent a fair amount of time researching places to eat and things to do while we’re there. Since I’m intolerant to gluten, I generally need to do a little more planning around food on holidays but the last time I was in Florence I remember being amazed at just how many places offer fresh, ‘home’made pasta, pizza, and gelato that are gluten free so I’m very excited for this trip!
