Weeknote #8
I’ve been getting headaches, nausea and overwhelming tiredness on and off this week so it’s been a tough one to get through with positivity but we’re finally at the weekend!
As I’m starting to think about whether I’ll do cheer again next season competitively, I’m thinking about alternative exercise options that I have available and looking into joining a gym through our work scheme. Never thought I’d be speed-dating gyms but apparently 10 minute show-rounds are the best way to actual get a sense of what a gym is like and decide which to join! My first physio session for my knee and back was this week too and, given that my knee issues seem to be due to week muscles, getting to a gym is probably a good idea.
Good news to some, the weather is still a bit cold and wet at the moment in London which for me has meant I can get a little more wear out of my new Moby Sweater before it goes away for the summer. I managed to get some photos and videos of the finished object to put on Instagram too which I usually forget until an item is at least a couple of months old so counting that as a success.
My Hermione’s Everyday Socks made their way off the needles this week too which frees me up to cast on a gift knit for my dad - although I’ve got a second gauge swatch currently relaxing for that so I can make sure I’m using the best needle size for me.
Work has been much quieter now the department social is over and I’ve picked up a new bug ticket to work on - troubleshooting and fixing broken code are the things I seem to enjoy the most so I’m looking forward to getting my first local test working so I can get to the root of the problem. There’s something odd going on with character encoding which is a new challenge to me.
Tickets have been booked to see the Tulip Festival at Hampton Court Palace next weekend when hopefully the weather will be a little less grey and they’ve just bloomed as announced on the palaces’ Instagram page which means there’ll be a lot of colour to see next week!
