Weeknote #31

After being struck down by a cold last week, this will be another 2-in-1 weeknotes:

  • I made a reuseable advent calendar for my boyfriend which I’ll fill with chocolates for him to enjoy this December

    • It’s my first attempt at quilting anything so the backing isn’t the most neat but I’m really happy with how it’s turned out!

  • A trip to Oxford to visit friends resulted in a trip to the Oxford Yarn Store for some new sock making supplies and yarn for a new hat

  • When visiting The Woolhound in Oxford’s Covered Market, I saw the Forest colourway of Adventures in Yarncraft’s sock yarn but didn’t buy it… two weeks on and that yarn has been living rent free in my brain so a friend has picked it up for me and I’m planning to make a Hipster Hat by holding a strand each of the colourway in the tweed and plain sock yarns

  • I’m enjoying the metal needles that I’ve been trying for sock knitting so picked up some metal circulars for hat knitting to try

  • A morning coffee catch up with a friend turned into a whole morning and lunch event with so much to chat about

  • Kids’ snoods are off the needles and ready to block

  • Second heel has been turned on my latest socks

  • I was presented with my Bell Handling Level 1 certificate at ringing practice this week
