Weeknote #50
It’s been a hectic few weeks!
We found out that we’re getting a puppy with only 2 weeks notice - we’ve been on the waiting list for almost a year so it was a very happy surprise but led to frantic preparations. Lots of dashing to Pets At Home and IKEA after work to buy supplies and working to puppy proof our downstairs which has never quite been fully tidy since moving in.
The tulips in the pots in our front garden have bloomed and gone in the last few weeks but they were beautiful while they lasted and I finished my wildflowers and honeycomb socks too. Our church sewing group has made great headway with creating the first panel of our purple altar frontal with a crazy patchwork from fabric donations.
I’ve spent the last week and a half sick with tonsillitis and sinusitis but that wasn’t going to stop me making the journey to meet our new puppy before we bring her home this weekend. I wasn’t able to help with any of the driving as I spent a lot of the travel time either sleeping or having coughing fits but I’ve got some antibiotics that are clearing things up now!
My making time will probably be heavily reduced in the coming months as I’ll be caring for a puppy but I’m still making progress with Nick’s Moby sweater sleeves, a new pair of DK house socks, and I even bought some gorgeous new yarn to make a hipster hat each for me and Nick in pink and lavender, respectively.
Here’s to the chaos that will fully begin on Sunday!
